Manager, Loss Mitigation Primary Responsibilities Include:· Overseeing the daily operations of the Collections and Loss-Mitigation Teams to ensure compliance with all Investor and departmental guidelines· Reviewing departmental processes and procedures to maximize resources and minimize expenditures · Developing monthly Calling Strategies· Coordinating, compiling and analyzing month-end data for distribution and presentation to various departments and Division Leaders· Reviewing Workout Plans (i.e. Short Pay-offs, Loan Modifications and Deed-in-Lieu-of Foreclosures) for feasibility and compliance· Reviewing Investor and Security Covenants to ensure compliance· Setting Calling Strategies and Special Mailing Campaigns to minimize associated risk· Communicating potential risk exposure to Senior Managers· Assisting in the development of unit Business Plans and Budgets to meet Company-forecasted future-growth requirements· Creating job descriptions· Establishing performance standards· Evaluating job performance and, as necessary, administering disciplinary action· Providing training and developing career paths for all direct reports· Interviewing applicants and recommending potential hires· Performing periodic Performance Reviews and recommending salary adjustments· Overseeing the administration of career-level programs· Monitoring the development of mailers and solicitations to increase borrower response to Workout options· Tracking departmental interaction with other Servicing Departments· Acting as the key contact with other departments and divisions within the Company· Undertaking Special Projects related to departmental activities A Successful Candidate Will Have:· High school diploma, GED or equivalent· Self-motivation· Detail-orientation· Effective organizational skills· Excellent listening, comprehension and negotiation skills· Effective verbal and written communication skills· Ability to multi-task and follow-through to completion of assignments· Knowledge of Mortgage Banking—specifically as it relates to Financial Privacy, Fair Lending, Collections, Bankruptcy, Workout, Foreclosure, Payoffs and Assumptions· Ability to conceptualize and establish operational and control enhancements for computer systems· Ability to assist Loan Counselors with training and question answering· Ability to assist with complaint and irate calls· Proven experience motivating, coaching, monitoring and evaluating staff performance· 5+ years experience in a Collections and/or Customer-Service environment· Advanced PC-skills—with knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Access· 6+ years experience in Mortgage Banking, Insurance and/or related field· 3+ years experience in a supervisory position· AS/400 experience The Ideal Candidate May Also Possess:· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or other related field (or equivalent work-experience) Countrywide is committed to leveraging the talent of a diverse workforce to create great opportunities for our business and our people.
